FOOTBALL RECRUITING National Signing Day Hype

Just two days left to college footballs not so exciting signing day, but for USF fans these last three weeks have been a blur. I figured I would open up a "hot line" in case any of you notice any thing new or interesting out there, and get your thoughts on it we are going to a few more, or maybe quite a bit more, on Wednesday's national signing day.

I've been hearing rumors that we have no more spots, or maybe only two or three. Shoot it could be more. It seems that coach Scott has stopped the bleeding of current USF players leaving the team to zero, and has been active on every recruiting area from high school, JUCO players, transfers, and the transfer portal. We've even had one or two PWO's make their commitments.

I'm hoping and praying that we land Marquez Bell, who could be a silent commit anyway, but keeping my fingers crossed. Coach Scott has been extremely effective on social media on every player coming in which has been a breath of fresh air.

Out there are still quite a few players looking to commit to schools, but if it were me, I would take a strong look at WR Kaleb Long, OT Phillip Wilder, and S Jalil Core, but for all intents and purposes, it seems like we might be done, or just waiting on one more to finish the trinity.

OT: FL Legislature could criminalize court-storming and throwing objects onto fields, etc.

If SB 764 passes, it would make entering a "covered area" in a stadium or arena a first-degree misdemeanor. The penalty for breaking that law would carry up to a year in jail or a $2,500 fine

The bill defines a "covered area" as "any area designated for use by players, coaches, officials, performers, or personnel administering a covered event that is on, or adjacent to, the area of performance or pla
y."

"Not only would court-storming be penalized, but anyone who throws, drops or tosses objects into the "covered area" would also be criminalized."

Seems like this is a bad piece of legislation. If taken at full face value, inviting fans onto the field after games would be technically a criminal act. It also covers practice fields and fans spitting on players (always poor decorum, but criminal?) and even criminalizes the vagary of "or attempts to" which is a huge loophole.

HOOPS GAME THREAD: USF at Tulsa

Game time is set for 8 p.m. ET and it will stream on ESPN+.

In Tulsa's most recent game its 6-foot-8, 227-pound center Bryant Selebangue recorded his ninth double-double of the season with an 11-point, 10-rebound performance against UCF. Selebangue is averaging 9.5 rebounds per game, which leads the conference and ranks No. 23 nationally.

The Golden Hurricane love to shoot threes and average 25 three-point attempts per game. However, they are only making 30.9 percent of their attempts.

I'm gonna keep my eye on Sterling Gaston-Chapman. A 6-foot-4, 218-pounder, Gaston-Chapman has only made 2-of-23 three-point attempts this season. He'll probably come off the Tulsa bench and make 3-of-4 tonight. It's just how things have gone against Tulsa in the past and with the Bulls' defense this season.

Please keep all game chatter in this thread.

Update on the outage

We had a third-party server crash and it took down a bunch of sites including Rivals globally. It happens from time to time. Our apologies for the outage as it was out of both Rivals and our staff’s control. Same thing happened at other networks in recent months. It’s sort of like Christmas lights without a backup circuit one wrong thing goes out and the whole thing can crash.
