I really liked this kid out of HS, didn't play any real snaps until last year at FAU. Has two to play two.

I attended the USF luncheon last Friday. Sat with two of our bigger DL (both transfers). Asked them the hardest running backs to tackle, both said Powell. Asked toughest OL to get past, Loften and Jennings.

Asked them about LB and they said Pettway came in and looks VERY good immediately.

Players were way more themselves and enjoying football than the last luncheon vibes when it felt like they were trying to be what Scott wanted them to be.

South Florida learned its home and away conference pairings for the 2023-24 season. Spoiler Alert, Memphis is not coming to Tampa. 😡

STORY

Here is the scoop:

WR- Shamar Rigby (Lakewood- St. Petersburg, FL) committed to Purdue but still took his OV to USF this past weekend. The Bulls are in this one for the long haul and don't be shocked if he ends up flipping before NSD to the Bulls.

WR- Brandon Winton (Alcoa, TN) is locked in, he loved his OV.

RB- Alvon Isaac (The Villages- Oxford, FL), USF sits in his top 5 with GT (not a take now they are full at his spot), Troy, James Madison and Georgia Southern and he really enjoys spending time with the staff, but still hasn't pulled the trigger on committing for whatever reason.

Tyreek Major (Gaither- Tampa, FL) committed to FAU following his OV there, I expect USF to flip him.

Defensively:

DE- Maurice Davis (Dougherty- Albany, GA) is another one that will take some time, it is USF and Ole Miss right now. He really likes the USF staff and the is the advantage while Ole Miss could wow him with NIL potentially if they want to push.

DE- Ryan Jenkins (Westover- Albany, GA) he is very bullish on USF right now. This was his favorite of his four OVs this month, Coastal, Iowa State, BC and USF.

LB- Josiah Taylor (Sebring, FL) things went perfectly for his visit, I've put in a futurecast for the Bulls to land Taylor.

Still gathering info on:

The twins OL Chenellson Exume (Edison- Miami, FL) and DT- Dinellson Exume (Edison- Miami, FL) appear to be a package deal. I'm chatting with Dinellson today hopefully so I'll am to get more on where things stand. Also CB Carlos Mitchell (Lake Wales, FL) is committed to UNC and edge Lorenzo Cowan (Jenkins- Savannah, GA).

Indoors, shortest practice to help them get their legs back.

Young guys have stepped up (I asked who & he listed names but he really meant newcomers)

Behind offensively from where he thought they'd be on operating within the system.

Today was the best day for the offense all camp.
Deeper at TE & WR than he thought.

He talked about what he wants to see cleaned up from the first scrimmage.

Second scrimmage is tomorrow.

Tampa Tech RB is not only committed to Charlotte…but now listed as a 4-star, and considered a rising player in the State of Florida.

Is this just a placeholder situation or…something else? NIL?

Is USF still recruiting him?

Associated Press Pre-Season Top 25 is out and Tulane is the highest ranked G5 team at #24. Others of note - UTSA at #29, Boise State at #31, Troy at #34.

D'Ernest Johnson was on the Browns' bubble but he just made the final cut. Happy for him- he could be a #2 back on a team that doesn't have Chubb and Hunt.

Everything I've read suggests that Rodney Adams will not only make the Bears but will actually be the 4th receiver. Not sure any other Bulls were on the fence.
