Inside info on why defense was bad and offense is inconsistent….

Okay so what im Going to share with you guys is maybe known, maybe not. Havnt seen it anywhere yet but if not, please keep it in this thread only. Okay lets start… iv been told by several assistants at the private schools that golesh is the most liked usf coach. Ever. Period. End of discussion. Golesh has catered chick fil le to one private school just recently. They were blown away. He surprised them. No usf coach has ever done that. They say his is hungry to learn from all the high school coaches in tampa. They say hes humble and sincere. Hes picking everyones brains on how they prepare for teams, how they built thier winning program etc. i was told hes the first usf coach to listen to them regarding which players to recruit on their rosters. They are directing him which players to recruit who are dogs and will bring thier lunch pale to work every day and grind. He knows isf cant compete for the 4/5 state right now but csn in the next few years if golesh keeps winning and building. I was also told that usf was so bad this year when golesh cane in all they have done in practice all year is focus on getting better and working on fundamentals…. Here comes the part thats tough to hear… usf doesnt watch opponent game film. Its why they look great one week but get blown out by teams like fau and uab. Its why on one series usf looks great on offense and then bad on offense the next series. We played alabama on pure energy and emotion…. With that said that will change in year two and we should see a lot of improvement in game. Golesh is also using the high schools as a way to learn how to watch game film at a basic level so he can translate that to his inexperienced players over next year. But that is why orlando is not the issue. His play calling was fine, but his players didnt know what play was coming so they got blown off the ball and looked lost. I was told golesh is an outside the box thinking and usf will win big because of it. I know it sounds nuts usf hasnt watched game film on oppenants but as i said, we were so bad golesh decided to be unorthodoxand focus on the basics in year 1 and it paid off. The goal next year is to get to 8 wins and beat a team they shouldnt beat in confrence. The goal is year three compete for conference title. Slow process. So theres that… just know golesh is really building trust with the high school. coaches at the public and private schools. Even had one coach at a private school tell me directly golesh will compete for a national title within 10 years at the P2 level.

FOOTBALL Board of Trustees meeting 12/5

Surprised how quiet the board is around this. The board is set to meet today with the OCS being the last item on the agenda.

It will most likely be addressed closer to 12N. Will Weatherford has dropped multiple hints about just waiting for this meeting. There should be some sort of new information we get that is a big deal. I doubt it’s renderings but one can hope.

Unsure if Kelly or any members have more insight. Please provide it if you know
