HOOPS South Florida Faces Florida State in Orange Bowl Basketball Classic

TAMPA, Fla. (December 7, 2023) – The University of South Florida men's basketball team heads south for the Orange Bowl Basketball Classic in Sunrise, Florida, on Saturday, December 9. South Florida takes on Florida State at 1:30 p.m. on the ACC Network inside Amerant Bank Arena.



Bulls at a Glance


Selton Miguel leads the team with 12.7 points per contest and is second on the team with 4.3 boards per game. He has a team-best 10 steals. He has added 12 assists and one block. Chris Youngblood is second on the squad with 12.2 points per game. He is averaging 2.3 rebounds per game to go along with 10 assists, four steals, and two blocks. Jayden Reid leads the team with 27 assists. He is tied for 84th in the NCAA with 4.5 assists per game and is fourth in the AAC. He has an assist-to-turnover ratio of 3.43, which is tied 35th in the country and third in the conference. He is second on the squad with eight steals and is averaging 3.2 rebounds per game to go along with 7.2 points per contest. Kasean Pryor leads the team with 5.5 rebounds per contest. He averages 5.8 points per game with six assists, four steals, and two blocks. As a unit, the Bulls are holding opponents to 29.2 percent from behind the 3-point line, which is tied for 56th in the NCAA and third in the American.

South Florida dropped a tough one on the road against UMass. Selton Miguel tied for a team-high 16 points on 4-of-5 from 3-point range. His four 3-pointers tied a career-high. Miguel is the first USF player to lead the team in points, rebounds, and assists since Jamir Chaplin did it against Houston on January 5, 2022. The South Florida bench has outscored the opponent's bench in every game this season, including a 35-14 advantage against UMass.



History with Florida State
