FOOTBALL USF Football- Grad by Yr, Available Ships

A team can have no more than 85 players on scholarship.
- A team cannot sign more than 25 players to a scholarship during a class year. Teams can count early enrollee's to the prior year's class if they did not hit the 25 number the year prior.

CURRENT STATUS
South Florida has 73 players scheduled to be on scholarship for 2024 spring ball. USF has 27 seniors who will be out of eligibility after the season who count against the 85 plus 14 freshmen yet to enroll. This means they can take up to 25 players in the Class of 2025 without going over the 85 scholarship limit if they fill up the empty spots. This does not account for future attrition that will take place due to early graduation, NFL, transfers, etc.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING Bulls Scoop: USF OV weekend recaps and updates on top targets 6/23

I figured rather than waiting for the one by one recaps, here is where things stand with some guys. USF closed on 4 of the 7 uncommitted OV kids from last week. I expect this weekend to end up in a similar position.

FLIPS TO USF?

I would call this a lean toward USF. I spoke with Richardson today and he is very Bullish on USF. Really loves DVD as a coach and Golesh.

I think this is done

Visited last week, he has been retweeting and liking some of my USF stuff, seems pretty engaged and likes the Bulls a lot.

Poret turned down some opportunities to visit elsewhere after picking up a few more offers this summer from P4 schools. When I talked to him in person recently he really loves the USF staff and how they've recruited him. OV'd to USF this weekend

DL from the same HS as Byrum Brown, really enjoyed his OV, spoke with him today, would not shock me to see him commit to USF

Spent his last weekend at USF, set up to talk to him tonight, I think they close this one.

Howdy, Go Bulls!

Went to lunch at the Butcher Block on Highway 50 in Groveland. Noticed the guy sitting at the next table had a USF Bulls banner on the back of his shirt. Threw up the horns and gave him a Go Bulls! Turns out the guy is Jason Vaughn’s father. Jason is in his sixth season as a Bull and has stuck with USF through some tough years. He has already graduated with a masters degree.

Pretty cool to meet Jason’s dad at a small place in Groveland. Looking even more forward to seeing Jason play after this chance encounter. Never know who a member of the Bull family may be that you just threw up the horns to. I also had a blackened Mahi sandwich and it was delicious.

South Florida Lacrosse Adds All-Conference Attacker Sydney McClure

Comes to USF with 40 career starts and 156 career points

TAMPA, Fla., June 14, 2024 – University of South Florida Women’s Lacrosse Head Coach Mindy McCord announced the addition of transfer Sydney McClure (Marietta, Ga.), an all-conference attacker from Coastal Carolina, as USF continues to strengthen its roster ahead of its inaugural competition season in 2024-25.

McClure comes to USF having scored 156 career points – including 87 goals and 69 assists – in 40 career starts during stints at Coastal Carolina (2023-24) and Furman (2021-22). A former all-state performer at Lassiter High School, McClure earned First Team All-Atlantic Sun Conference honors last year as she helped lead Coastal to a 14-6 record, the program’s first conference title and an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. She logged 43 goals (shooting .531), 33 assists and 76 points for the Chanticleers on the year.

“Sydney was the dominant force on Coastal Carolina’s championship team this year, and she came to us looking for more,” McCord said. “Her attitude is perfect for helping us establish Bulls Nation as a household name in women’s lacrosse. We have known Syd since she was a kid playing youth lacrosse in the Lassiter Trojan program. She’s always been someone we’ve been proud of, scoring 156 points in just three seasons.”

McClure joins three all-conference defensive transfer additions for the Bulls in the spring, including two-time Atlantic East Conference Defensive Player of the YearCarolina Gallagher (D, Cabrini University), ASUN Defensive Player of the Year Paige Pagano (GK, Jacksonville University, and Great Lakes Valley Conference Defensive Player of the Year Mikaela Ness (D, Missouri Western State).

The Bulls have a full roster training and competing on campus and used the 2023-24 season as a training year. USF will begin NCAA Division I competition playing in the American Athletic Conference starting in February of 2025.
