HOOPS RECRUITING USF offers 4-star center

Peyton Marshall picked up a USF offer earlier today.

Marshall, who de-committed from Auburn a few days ago, is a big body post with good hands and feet for his size. Two areas he has improved from last year at this time are his mobility and his conditioning. Marshall is a good area rebounder and an underrated passer. As he gets in better shape he'll be able to play harder for longer stretches.

The Athletic Draft Preview

USF players in the Beast:

Demontrey Jacobs is the #28 OT and has a priority UDFA grade, which is what I thought. Here's the conclusion on him: "Overall, Jacobs has a tough time keeping his upper and lower halves on the same page, but his movement potential and size/length could land him on an NFL practice squad."

Demetris Harris is the #76 OG and Brad Cecil both #25 center, neither of them made the priority UDFA list so they don't have write ups. On defense, Rashawn Yates is the #126 edge rusher and Dwayne Boyles #74 LB.

The Beast also reminded me that we were once on Nathaniel Dell:

"He planned to commit to South Florida and return to his home state, but the coaches told him to hold off because they were waiting on a few other potential signees. Instead, Dell committed to Houston over Akron, Central Michigan and Old Dominion."

Looking back through the board:

How seriously are they going after him? We've talked about the depth at WR in the 2020 season so I don't really see why the staff would take two JUCO receivers who are both under 160 pounds.

The other small WR we had was Daquan Bailey Brown, who ended up decommitting a few months later because he couldn't get into schoo. By that time, Dell was gone.

pride nailed his assessment though:

Well you can see there is some speed, and precise route running in this guys game. Are those clips from his first game this year? It looked like he had a LB or SS lined up over him at slot for the receiving clips and it was a sad mismatch. You can see the goal of the staff, get that speed and ranginess out wide for Kerwin's offense.
