Fletcher vs First Coast

Two teams battling now for a district title. Both have very good QBs. Tate (USF commit) and Rodney Tisdale (another 2024 QB). Tisdale is fantastic and reminds me of an athletic Mahomes. Somebody needs to be recruiting him. Fletcher has a roadgrader in Toby Matson at guard. Can't believe a team like USF isn't on a kid like that. He is dominant on the line versus a very good First Coast team

HOOPS RECRUITING Myles Che recruiting update

I spoke briefly with The Skill Factory point guard Myles Che tonight, ahead of his official visit to USF which begins tomorrow afternoon.

The main two main reasons I hit him up was to hear about his Indiana State visit and get a timeline for his USF visit. Che surprised me when he said that he just got back from an OV to Drexel. So, to recap, Che visited Indiana St. Oct. 16-18, Drexel Oct. 20-22 and catches a flight to Tampa Monday afternoon.

To be clear, this wasn't an interview. Just a brief conversation. All he really mentioned about Indiana State was its coaching staff, particularly head coach Josh Schertz who is entering his second season there, and Indiana State's player development piece. On Drexel, Che was impressed with the campus. He liked the vibe of the Drexel campus and what he called "the city aspect."

Most people probably feel MVS is going to sign with Green Bay, but can they afford him. Clearly he has a lot of leverage here, and can seek a deal in excess of $10 million. Green Bay lost it's leverage when they let Adams get away, now they want to act like they wanted MVS the entire time.

FOOTBALL Marsh, Marsh, Marsh...and I'm Not Talking the 3rd Month of the Year

If God himself make a prototype QB, Tre Marsh might be that person. But what has happened to Mr. Marsh? Tre, being the next in line for the most significant position on a football team, looked more like Mr. Marshmallow against Tulane, rather than any potential hero USF most desperately needs. He has a plus arm, and good patience in the pocket, but after that it looks like he's bored to be out there, or that "deer in the head light" look. His predecessor, Gerry Bohanon, after a slow start, has been starting to look like a Robert Griffith lll at Baylor the last few games. Unfortunately, Bohanon is also starting to get injured like RG lll when he played in the NFL. Not all traits are admirable.

Tre Marsh has fallen into a unique position at USF waiting out a disgruntled and pouting Timmy McClain and daddy, this time to "earn" the number two spot behind center. But where does he go from here? Marsh tested the Transfer Portal for a mere two weeks and was gladly accepted back by Coach Jeff Scott. I'm sure Scott said all the right things and welcomed him back, and told him to be ready because, well, you never know. But what has Marsh been doing the past eight months? It looks like he's been getting his understudy from Tom Brady, not the actual Tom Brady, but from the latest Madden 22 Tom Brady, than being mentally and emotionally prepared WHEN HIS TIME COMES at USF!

Well, your time is now Tre. You have got to literally be ready to play each down, full knowing know that GB 1 could go down at any moment. This is not the time to stand there in the pocket and wait for the offensive line to give you five seconds each play. Bohanon had to figure that out, but Marsh has been here for three years, so wake up!

Bohanon is out for the season. Marsh has got to step up and make something out of his situation. If not, he has some pretty good talent willing to take their chances. I'm hoping he wakes up, takes a leadership role, and shows the improvement expected from him.

AAC QBs with NFL potential in order

Several AAC QBs have more ability than is immediately visable. Some have O-line problems like Tulsa QB Davis Brin has taken 28 sacks, Memphis QB Seth Hennigan has taken 24 sacks, Tulane QB Michael Pratt has taken 16 sacks, Houston QB Clayton Tune has taken 15 sacks and UCF QB John Rhys-Plumlee has taken 15 sacks. It could be partially these QBs holding the ball too long or their receivers taking too long to uncover, but the O-line figures high in the equation none the less.

I rate the upper classmen QBs in terms of NFL ability as follows: 1. Holton Ahlers-ECU 2. Clayton Tune-Houston 3. Tanner Mordecai-SMU 4. Ben Bryant- Cincy 5. Davis Brin-Tulsa

Two lower classmen may be the have the best NFL potential of the lot. 1. Michael Pratt-Tulane 2. Seth Hennigan- Memphis. These guys both need at least 1 more year to develop fully but they have all the tools.

The other 4 AAC starting QBs Bohanon-USF, Lavalai-Navy, Warner-Temple and Rhys-Plumlee-UCF have not shown enough to be NFL caliber at this time.

Good Coaches recruit AND DEVELOP good QBs.

FOOTBALL RECRUITING Recruiting-What are we doing?

So I’ve basically tried to remain unplugged since Louisville from USF as they are just a train wreck. I’ve been so out of it for my own good that I hadn’t checked recruiting in a minute. So I thought I would ask

what in the flying **** are we doing?

like what is CJS plan this cycle? Why are we at basically a 1/3 of the commits of every other school. And our commits our bad. Our whole O line is going to graduate and we have one OT commit? Are they even thinking about recruiting? Or does the staff already realize they are being fired and aren’t? What is the strategy here? To just get a ton of transfers again?

I just don’t get it. I’ve liked some of the past classes CJS brought in but this is a serious head scratcher. Can we get some insight Kelly? Also are we beginning to hear CJS will be gone after this season? He needs to win a minimum of 3 games , more than he has ever won in a whole season, over these final 5 games to keep his job. Even then I’d like him gone. I don’t see any signs how this team is better next year aside from an easier schedule
