Sometimes its like riding a roller coaster with freshmen but Ryan Conwell appears to have broken out of his shooting slump and it is a good thing to see.
In the Bulls' last four games, Conwell is shooting 53.8% from the field and 85.7% from the free throw line. He is also 10-of-17 beyond the arc (58.8%). The freshman is averaging 23.75 minutes, 11 points, 3 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.7 turnovers in those four games.
Conwell's conference-only shooting stats for the season are: 38.0% FG, 36.6% 3FG (No. 14 in the AAC), 80.0% FT.
The thing I like about Conwell is his composure. Unless you look at him right after a play happens, I can't tell if USF is comfortably ahead, ahead, but facing adversity, behind but close or getting blown out.
Defenses have tried to rattle him and speed him up but he stays under control.
He is very methodical in how he approaches his business. Whether it is before practice or during pre-game, Conwell has a specific routine that he goes through. It doesn't matter the outcome of the Bulls most recent game, he sticks to his routine. Sometimes right before he begins his routine before practice he'll come over say hello and dap me up but never before a game. Once he walks through the tunnel into the arena, Conwell is locked in.
