So I was asked to tell some behind the scenes stuff so here goes.

Lots of interesting poaching went on along with negative recruiting against USF by the Oregon staff. The biggest negative recruiting job was done to Marlon Mack though. Taggart told the family he should go pro, per Mack's dad. They pushed really hard for it in fact. It may end up working out for Marlon, but it probably would've been better had he come back for his SR year. Marlon nearly transferred as well because of the former staff's constant praising up D'Ernest Johnson.

Bruce Judson was too much for CCS. They got sick of his crap and that's partly why he ended up on Eugene. He is probably one of the neediest recruits they've dealt with and you will put up with that for an elite player, but they weren't even 100-percent sure where he fit on the field.

Latavious Brini was a silent commit to USF following his visit. UGA ended up at the last minute having an issue that left them with an opening in the secondary and there was a strong push from '18 UGA commit Donovan Georges. Kirby Smart is trying to get more involved in Florida recruiting for skill position guys so Brini helps keep that door open for them. It was an unfortunately late loss.

USF hoped to get Cornell Jones as well, Purdue made a nice pitch and got on him a little earlier. They liked Keirston Johnson the most so that worked out okay, would've liked two LBs though.

AJ Davis was up in the air until the last minute between USF and Pitt. I have a close connection on the Pitt staff and they were really nervous he was going to stay home late.

Had James Robinson not been able to sign with Florida the Bulls would've edged out UCF for him per my sources.

USF staff were mostly thumbs down on Emare Hogan like I was. They just thought he was too thin and thin hipped to put enough weight on to be effective at this level even compared to Duran Bell who will end up in that slot role.

USF got Kelvin Kegler because Minnesota landed three DT commits in three days leading up to NSD. Austin Schirck, Royal Silver and Malcolm Robinson.

After digging into the Jaypee Philbert thing, USF decided not to go that route. There were more issues than were ever made public with him, that's why he fell all the way down to Arkansas State where he was off the radar.

Kane Taylor will end up at USF if he can qualify.

CCS decided to pocket some ships for next year with a few of the spots instead of taking reaches like Taggart sometimes did late.
