FSU is having a weird start to the season. In their opener at Doak, the Noles were down 28-6 to Ole Miss in the 1st quarter. They came back and won 45-34 and #1 ranked Alabama just got by Ole Miss at Bryant Denny 48-45. Ole Miss is a quality team, so that was a big win for FSU. Charleston Southern sans 14 players who were suspended was a joke. The loss to Louisville at Papa John's 63-20 was no joke.
The Bulls will be facing a Seminole team that has sandspurs under it's saddle blanket. Jimbo Fisher is #3 on the pay scale of College football coaches at over 7M per year. I know our guys will give their best, but FSU is too talented to lose like they lost at Louisville and Jimbo has to be feeling the heat after that embarrassment. With all fans it is always "What have you done for us lately."
Ohio State sashays into Norman and beats the Sooners 45-24. That takes some of the luster off of Houston's 33-23 win in Norman in the opener. Mark Stoops may not be the only Stoops on the hot seat. Bobby Stoops has been at OU a long time and it's been a long time since his last (and Only) National Championship at Oklahoma.
Houston can gain ground when Louisville rolls into town on November 17. Assuming they can beat the Cardinals, which will be no easy task. With the exception of the Cardinals, Navy and Memphis, the sooners have a weak schedule for the rest of the way. The Cougars have two big wins out of the way with defeats of Oklahoma and Cincy. The Houston v Louisville game promises to be a barn burner. I won't be missing that game for sure.
