Games to be played Nov. 23-25 in the U.S. Virgin Islands

TAMPA, June 12, 2023 – University of South Florida women’s basketball team will once again face a strong non-conference schedule in the 2023-24 season, including a return to the Paradise Jam in the U.S. Virgin Islands to face Arizona State, High Point and Texas.

The 24th edition of the women’s Paradise Jam Tournament, played Nov. 23-25 at the University of Virgin Islands Sports and Fitness Center in St. Thomas, will mark the fourth Paradise Jam USF has competed in and the first since 2018. The Bulls have previously posted a 5-4 record in the tournament, with notable wins over UCLA, Oklahoma, Illinois, Texas Tech and Iowa in tournaments played in 2008, 2014 and 2018.

The round-robin women’s tournament will start three straight days of games on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23.

The Reef Tournament, which USF will compete in, will be played each evening and will be kicked off by USF vs. High Point at 6:45 p.m. followed by Arizona State vs. Texas at 9 p.m. on Nov. 23.

On Friday, Nov. 24, South Florida vs. Arizona State will get the evening session started at 6:45 p.m., before the evening ends with a match-up of High Point vs. Texas at 9 p.m.

On Saturday, Nov. 25, the final day of action, High Point will take on Arizona State at 6:45 p.m. before South Florida battles Texas at 9 p.m. to end the 2023 Paradise Jam.

The Bulls own a 2-0 record vs. High Point, are 0-1 vs. Arizona State and are 2-1 vs. Texas, including a thrilling 70-65 win at No. 22/18 Texas last season.

“The U.S. Virgin Islands is so excited to welcome back all fans and players this year,” said Joseph Boschulte, Commissioner of the U.S. Virgin Islands Department of Tourism. “Teams and fans will be staying at the all-new rebuilt Westin Beach Resort & Spa at Frenchman’s Reef. The experience at the resort and dining at the island’s restaurants will be top-notch for all involved.”

Fan travel packages will be sold at a later date so you can follow the Bulls to paradise. For more information leading up to the tournament, check out the Paradise Jam on social media, and their website paradisejam.com.
