There's been no official word on what holiday tournament USF will play in this upcoming season, but many of the tournaments have already filled up. 10 of the 14 AAC teams are already locked into tournaments with USF, Tulane, Tulsa and UTSA as the only 4 AAC teams not confirmed for a tournament yet. Below are a handful of tournaments that haven't been completely filled and no AAC teams are represented - some, but not all, of these are possible landing spots for the Bulls:
  • Baha Mar Bahamas Hoop Championship (11/17-19); Nassau, Bahamas
  • Continental Tire Main Event (11/17-19); Las Vegas, NV - this on feels unlikely with SDSU, Washington and Xavier
  • Sunshine Slam (11/20-21); Daytona Beach, FL - unlikely as USF has played in the tournament recently and the only opening is for a "visitor" school
  • Gulf Coast Showcase (11/20-22); Estero, FL - real possibility due to geography and only 4 of the 8 slots filled
  • Cancun Challenge (11/21-22); Cancun, Mexico - possibility with only 1 of 8 slots filled
  • NIT Season Tip Off (11/22-24); Brooklyn, NY - no chance
  • ESPN Events Invitational (11/23-24,26); Lake Buena Vista, FL - FAU rumored to get the last slot, but if they land in Brooklyn could open a spot for a local team (Florida, FSU, Miami, UCF are all committed elsewhere)
  • Wooden Legacy (11/23-24); Las Vegas, NV
  • Hostilo Hoops Community Classic (11/24-26); Savannah, GA
  • Las Vegas Holiday Classic (11/24-25); Las Vegas, NV
I think the Gulf Coast Showcoast in Estero and Cancun Challenge are the two most likely options. The "dream" scenario is FAU, who will be in the Preseason Top 10, going to Brooklyn and USF providing a Florida presence in the ESPN Events Invitational which they have never played in.
