USF Men’s Basketball Makes Its First Trip to Texas for a Game with UTSA

TAMPA, Fla, Feb. 18, 2025 – The University of South Florida men’s basketball team remains on the road for an American Athletic Conference contest against UTSA. The Bulls (12-14, 5-8) and the Roadrunners (10-15, 4-9) will meet for the only time during the regular season on Wednesday, Feb. 19. USF and UTSA are scheduled for an 8 p.m. ET jump on ESPN+.



Setting The Stage:

USF looks to bounce back into the win column against UTSA on Wednesday. The Bulls are 1-8 on the road, while the Roadrunners are 6-5 at home this season. USF currently sits one game in front of UTSA in the AAC standings.



Series History:

The Bulls and the Roadrunners will meet for the third time on Wednesday. Last season, USF won both meetings, including a 66-61 victory in San Antonio on Feb. 21, 2024.



Note-A-Bull:

CJ Brown is one of three DI true freshmen to achieve at least 60 assists, 30 steals, and 15 blocks in the 2024-25 season, alongside Baylor’s VJ Edgecombe and Duke’s Cooper Flagg. The last USF player to hit those marks in a single season, regardless of class, was Jawanza Poland in 2010-11.



Jamille Reynolds leads the team with 13.2 points per game and 7.9 rebounds per contest. He is tied for 41st in the NCAA and second in the AAC with 6.17 defensive rebounds per game. His 7.9 rebounds per game are tied for 73rd in the country and fourth in the conference. He is tied for 60th in the nation and is tied for third in the league with seven double-doubles.

South Florida is 14th in the nation and is third in the conference with 15.08 fastbreak points per game. The Bulls are tied for 83rd in the NCAA and third in the AAC with 7.8 steals per game. The Bulls are 37th in the NCAA and third in the AAC, averaging 27.96 bench points per game. The USF bench has only been outscored six times this season. South Florida is holding opponents to 19.62 bench points per game. USF has four players this season who have recorded at least 50 rebounds, 30 assists, and 30 steals, tying for the most in Division I alongside Arkansas State, Cal Poly, Iowa State, St. John’s, and UTEP.
