East Cobb
TAMPA, Fla. (January 21, 2025) – The University of South Florida men’s basketball team makes its first trip to North Carolina this week for a Wednesday, January 22, contest with Charlotte. The Bulls (10-8, 3-2) and the 49ers (7-12, 0-6) are scheduled for a 7 p.m. tip on ESPN+.

CJ Brown was named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week earlier this week. He recorded a career-high 16 points in USF’s win against Tulsa on Saturday. Brown averaged 12.5 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game for the week. He led the team with seven steals and added four assists.

CJ’s Stellar Statline

Against Tulsa, CJ Brown became the only USF player this century to record 15 or more points, four or more steals, and zero turnovers in a single game. Only four other AAC players have matched that statline this season. He is the first USF player to achieve that statline since B.B. Waldon did it on December 21, 1999, against The Citadel.

56 in the Second Half

USF scored 56 points in the second half against UAB on Wednesday. It was the highest second-half scoring total for the Bulls in a game since January 23, 2010, against Providence (also 56).

Strong Start to AAC Play

The Bulls are 3-2 or better through five conference games for the second straight season (4-1 to start 2023-24). The last time they had back-to-back campaigns with such starts in conference play was 2000-01 (4-1) and 2001-02 (3-2).
