TAMPA, Fla. (January 15, 2025) – On Wednesday, the University of South Florida men’s basketball team cut a 20-point deficit at the half to six points in the second half against UAB. The comeback effort could not erase the first-half lead by UAB as USF fell 92-83.
The Bulls are now 9-8 overall and 2-2 in American Athletic Conference play. The Blazers improved to 11-7 overall and 4-1 in AAC games.
For the Bulls, it was a tale of two halves. In the first half, USF committed six turnovers and scored 27 points, the fewest points in a half this season. In the second half, there were zero turnovers, and the Bulls scored the most points in a single half, 56.
Jayden Reid finished with a career-high 26 points. It was his third game with at least 20 points this season. He tied for a team-high four assists with one steal and one rebound. He shot 50.0 percent from 3-point range and was a perfect 6-of-6 from the free-throw line. Jamille Reynolds and Jimmie Williams each finished with 13 points. Kobe Knox and Reynolds tied for a team-high five rebounds. CJ Brown finished the game tied for a team-high four assists and tied for a game-high with three steals. De’Ante Green posted a game-high two blocks.
