I had a chance to observe practice today, but could not stay for the duration. My biggest takeaway is that Roddy Peters looked very good. He was knocking down jump shots from from all over the floor. Granted all but one was an open shot during a drill but his jumper was wet. I did see him knock down one jumper over a hand. Peters was also very vocal during practice and showing some leadership. It appears the transfer may have done him some good. This could be HUGE for USF next season.
I didn't see the Houston game but I don't think the coaches were happy with Morillo's defense because they ran a drill where one perimeter player after another went at him and he had to stop them. Some of these were 15-20 seconds long on-ball defending for Morillo. As soon as a player either scored or missed a shot, another perimeter player went at him.
Cousins and Guerrero battled at the other end of the court, working on post moves and counter moves to score. Also the bigs worked on defending entry passes into the post.
