Josh Pastner for Tubby Smith? Can't believe that someone else hired Pastner. That he the timeline unfolded in a way where he was "hired" instead of "fired"...what? Anyway, thoughts on the coach exchange? Pastner has been notorious for underachieving so we had that going for us to begin with, however, he was a fantastic recruiter. So, the success of the team/program was hedged a bit. Smith isn't really known to be a good recruiter like Pastner was but I've heard he's a better developer of talent than Pastner is. Should be interesting. Strengthening a weakness but weakening a strength. Not sure what to take from all of this.
The good news, I guess, is that this conference was already strong with basketball and Memphis wouldn't be a new team to now have to consider when playing against the good teams in the conference. The number stays the same. They were always up there in the top half of the conference so the number hasn't changed.
