Michael Kelly said this is a special season and the 25th anniversary of USF football and he wanted a timeline for people on improvements for the athletics facilities.
They are doing it in phases and the first phase is an IPF and Lee Roy Selmon center improvements. Renovations start as soon as spring ball ends. That is a $3 million
The IPF is a $22 million project and will be on the turf field. It will be a multi-purpose field for multiple sports and events. End of the summer they will begin, hope to have it ready for 2022 season.
Jeff Scott said he is really excited about this project and is glad they are building on the vision that Michael Kelly sold him on when he hired him. He said it is a new day for USF football and the entire university. He said he is seeing an alignment with the vision within the school and athletics and that was a big part of Clemson's climb and he sees that building at USF.
He said that it has been a priority for the president, AD, booster club and foundation to move this forward. He thanked donors who have made huge financial commitments for this to happen and have some new areas in the Lee Roy Selmon and redo the lockers and make it one of the best in the country and the team room upgrades and then the Indoor Performance Facility and he has experienced the impact of that and how you practice it is not just spring and fall football practice, but all-year training and having a safe place to train year-round is huge for the program. This also is a statement and shows USF is committed to excellence. The leadership is committed to moving forward and creating excitement and momentum and it will lead to other projects here.
