Matt Staton from bridgingthebay.com (a former RTB writer) asked me a few questions about USF's 2017 class.

Mike, who do you see as the biggest get for this class thus far? Would it be Judson?

Yes I’d say it’s Judson. With him being a former Ohio State commit and a four-star recruit, that just brings a lot of excitement to the fans, coaches, and other recruits that are considering or committed to USF. I think that other schools will try to come in late and try to swoop Judson away from USF. For those who remember the 2014 recruiting class, Judson’s recruitment reminds me a lot of Vincent Jackson’s recruitment. Both were big time prospects that had huge offers, then schools backed off of them. Jackson committed to USF and then had Virginia come in late to sway him away from USF. I could see the same situation happening with Judson.

Which player is not getting a lot of attention but could be a potential sleeper in this class?

I’ve been a big fan of North Florida Christian outside linebacker Michael Scott, one of USF’s recent commits. This is a nice in-state snag for the Bulls at a high school with a lot of talent. He also has a really nice offer list for a two-star prospect.

What are some need positions they still need to fill with this class?

Every time I’m asked this, pretty much about any school, I always answer with lineman. It’s just such a crucial position that you can’t get enough of. I love love love USF’s addition of Jean Marcellus. He’s really solid offensive lineman that I saw this spring. USF getting a top prospect from Jefferson is really helpful as well since the Dragons are always loaded with top prospects.

Finally, what is a name USF fans should pay attention to moving forward?

I’d say to keep an eye out on Jabreel Stephens, a defensive lineman for Jefferson. Like Marcellus, he’d be another lineman that has several P5 offers. He’s a big body that could do well being coached by Eric Mathies.
