JUCO scoring point guard Mario McKinney Jr. had 52 points, 7 assists and 8 rebounds last night for John A. Logan College (2-0).
He was 17-of-23 from the field (3-of-5 on 3FG) and 15-of-23 from the FT line. Now the bad stat: McKinney had 12 turnovers in his first two games. McKinney is an explosive guard who can shoot it and is crafty. He singed with Missouri after a standout career at Vashon HS in St. Louis where he helped Vashon win three state basketball championships.
He was the No. 38 ranked SG and the No. 145 overall prospect in the Rivals150 for the 2019 class.
I've reached out to McKinney and his dad to get a recruiting update. Someone else on the Rivals Network told me that he expects McKinney will be committing some what soon. In addition to the Bulls, Maryland, St. John's, Oregon, Georgia, Texas A&M, TCU, Pittsburgh, Mississippi, UCF and others are involved with McKinney on some level.
