The FSU game represents the greatest challenge of the season for the new look Bulls. A win will put the eyes of the nation upon the Bulls. A loss can be graded by degree. A close loss is one thing, a blowout is an entirely different matter.
The first week games saw some upsets as well as close losses by lesser opponents.
Portland State 24 Washington State 17. Ouch for the Cougars !!!! I bet Telly Lockette is questioning why he ever left Tampa about now.
South Dakota State 41 Kansas 38. HUH ? It's not a misprint.
Hawaii 28 Colorado 20, North Dakota 24 Wyoming 13, WKU 14 Vandy 12.
Surprisingly close losses: Texas San Antonio 32 Arizona 42, Youngstown St 37 Pitt 45, Southern Illinois 47 Indiana 48, Sam Houston State 45 Texas Tech 59, Eastern Washington 42 Oregon 61, Western Michigan 24 Michigan State 37 and Central Michigan 13 Oklahoma St 24.
It's always best to respect your opponent, but that doesn't mean you have to stand in awe of any opponent. FSU has some serious talent no doubt and it seems that Golson has stabilized their QB questions. Stopping the FSU ground game is the key. Dalvin Cook is excellent and I doubt he can be stopped, but if we could slow him down some that would make Golson's job a little tougher.
A lot of lesser teams surprised in week 1. Lets hope the Bulls are the big surprise of week 2.
GO BULLS !!!!!
