It was great to get off the snide against ECU, but this Wednesday @ 7:00 PM in the Dome the Bulls are hosting a very angry #11 Cincy Bearcat team after their Saturday 60-51 loss @ #19 SMU. By the way the two teams played in Cincy, I thought SMU would win in their house and the Ponies did.
The Ponies don't have great height but they do have bulk. The Ponies held the Bearcats 25 points under their average but Cincy held SMU 13 points under their average, so you know there was some nose to nose, toes to toes defense being played. If these guys meet in the AAC championship game (which they probably will), It would be hard to pick a winner. The AAC tourney is being played at the XL Center in Hartford, Conn.
My dark horse is UCONN because Ollie brings them around every year come tournament time. For UCONN, winning the AAC tourney is their only ticket to the SHOW.
As for Wednesday's game with Cincy, in my best Popeye "I knows humility and I knows humiligration !!" The kids have to learn a new lesson before tourney time. I'd like to see how close the Bulls could get playing D like they did vs ECU. It will be hard after the Bearcats trip to SMU.
