Louis Rowe – A graduate of St. Petersburg Lakewood High School, Rowe was most recently the head coach at James Madison (2016-2020). He is back in Florida and doing some work as an assistant coach with the Southeast Elite Grassroots Academy (formerly Team Parsons) 17U team. Rowe would be a strong recruiter of Bay Area and Central Florida kids. I don't think he is well known in South Florida, mainly because he hasn't recruited many kids from that part of the state, despite being at FIU for one season.

Rowe is known for developing perimeter players.

I expect Rowe to be in the mix for the USF opening and to interview. I am thisclose to calling Rowe the leader for the job.

Steve DeMeo – Thursday, in another thread, @USFMike mentioned that Steve DeMeo was let go by St. John’s.

DeMeo has several years of experience as a Division I assistant but is probably best known for the success he had as head coach at Northwest Florida State. DeMeo led the Raiders to a national title and was named the Spalding NJCAA National Coach of the Year in 2015. Under DeMeo's direction, Northwest Florida State turned in a six-year record of 170-27 (.863), earned an additional berth in the 2017 NJCAA Final Four and advanced to the Elite Eight in 2016, 2018 and 2019.

I speculated that DeMeo might already have a new gig that hasn’t been officially announced yet – FAU. After speaking with a source today I do not think DeMeo is headed to FAU.

Could there be more coaches in the mix? Absolutely. I haven't been able to confirm any other names at this time.
