Mark your calendars and clear the dayIRVING, Texas – The 2025 American Conference Football Championship Game will be televised on ABC, as announced Wednesday by the conference and ESPN.
The 2025 Championship Game is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 5, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC. The game will be played at the home stadium of the conference’s regular-season champion and will kick off ABC’s Championship Weekend, which also includes the title games from the Big 12, SEC and ACC.
ABC has televised the American Championship Game each year since the game’s inception in 2015. The first 10 championship games have drawn a combined television audience of more than 26 million viewers.
Last year’s American Championship Game was an historic event in prime time on ABC as Army captured its first conference title in program history with a 35-14 win against Tulane at Michie Stadium. The Black Knights went on to finish 12-2, leading a group of six American teams to win bowl games as the conference earned the Bowl Challenge Cup as the top-performing league in Bowl Season.
The American had three teams win at least 10 games last year (Army, Memphis, Navy), joining the ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC as the only conferences with at least three 10-win teams. Army (No. 21) and Memphis (No. 24) were ranked in the final Associated Press top 25, giving the conference at least two ranked teams in the final poll seven times in the league’s first 12 seasons.
