IRVING, Texas – The 2024 American Athletic Conference Football Championship Game will be televised on ABC for the 10th consecutive season, as announced Wednesday by the conference and ESPN.
The 2024 American Championship Game is scheduled for Friday, Dec. 6, at 8 p.m. ET. ABC has televised The American Championship Game each year since the game's inception in 2015.
This year’s championship game will be The American’s first to be played in prime time.
The American Athletic Conference champion has advanced to either the College Football Playoff or a New Year's Six bowl seven times in the first 10 seasons of the College Football Playoff era.
American Athletic Conference teams figure to be well-positioned for a second appearance in the College Football Playoff in 2024 as the new Playoff format allows for the five highest-ranked conference champions to reach the 12-team field.
