In the Houston game thread I posted a pic of two recruits who were at the game (the pic is re-posted here) and watching the teams warm up about 20 minutes before game time.

On the left in the isle seat with the long legs is 6-foot-8, 200-pound Westminster Academy (Ft. Lauderdale) freshman forward Ben Middlebrooks. He is seated next to his mom who is seated next to 2020 prospect Roger McFarlane of University School (Ft. Lauderdale).

I've seen Middlebrooks play twice -- the first time was the first weekend of December at Westminster Academy -- the second time was Thursday night when Westminster Academy played Montverde Academy in the Montverde Academy Invitational Tournament aka "The M.A.I.T."

When I saw Middlebrooks in December I liked him, when I saw him Thursday I really liked him.

He's young and he was defending and being defended by four-star 2019 Florida Gators signee Omar Payne (ranked No. 42) and five-star Precious Achiuwa (ranked No. 9). Middlebrooks had his freshman moments but I could see the improvement in game and that the moment wasn't too big for him.

Roy Williams, Bill Self + an assistant, as well as assistant coaches from UCF, Minnesota and UF were at the game. Great crowd at that game too (including sky box seating).

USF found this kid EARLY and got him on campus for a game with the largest attendance in easily five seasons. Oh and get this...per NCAA rules since he is a freshman Middlebrooks and his mom had to buy their own tickets. Great work by the USF staff to get them to drive round trip from Ft. Lauderdale + buy their own tickets.

Ben Middlebrooks is a name to remember.
