The USF coaching staff is on the trail today through Sunday for the one live evaluation period for travel team basketball. Later this month there will be another live period but only for NCAA Basketball academies.
For the most part the staff will be crisscrossing the greater Atlanta area to watch prospects playing in the Under Armour Finals, The Best Of The South, and the Elite 32 tournaments. Not too far away are the Nike Peach Jam (North Augusta, SC) and the Nike Peach Invitational (Augusta, GA). The Peach Invitational is kinda like Nike's NIT for teams who didn't qualify for Peach Jam. There is also an event in SC called the Peach State Tournament. It is an event for teams who are not shoe sponsored. Meanwhile in Birmingham, AL the adidas Summer Championships kicked off today.
According to a source, adidas Summer Championships is where Brian Gregory is today and he has already offered a 2020 prospect named Martice Mitchell who runs with Kevon Looney Elite. Mitchell attends Bloom High School in Chicago Heights, IL.
Mitchell also holds offers from Colorado State, Rutgers, Saint Louis, Tulsa, VCU and several mid majors. Illinois, Kansas State and Oregon are showing interest. Mitchell took an official visit to Rutgers June 17-19. According to a source, Mitchell really wants an Oregon offer.
