Rider comes from the Metro Atlantic Athletic conference and it is another tough eastern basketball school. Rider was 13-20 last year. They average 76 ppg but 6 players average 70.5 of that.

Rider has 4 senoirs and 2 freshmen that do the bulk of the scoring. Their top 3 scorers are all 6”7” 230 lb seniors, Xavier Lundy 16.5 ppg 4 rpg, Kalil Thomas 15.5 ppg 11 rpg and Noville Carey 12.0 ppg 7.5 rpg. Their PG is 5’10” 170 lb freshman Stevie Jordan, he averages 11.5 ppg 5.5 rpg and 5.0 apg. Senoir Jimmie Taylor, 6’4” 200 lb averages 7.5 ppg 4.5 rpg and freshman Dimenico Vaughn averages 7.5 ppg 2.0 rpg. These averages are just over 2 games, both wins.

This team doesn’t appear to be as deep as Elon, but their starters have a lot of experience and obviously a lot of time playing together. Their 3 bigs have nice bulk, so they will be a tough test in the blocks.

We’ll see what the Bulls learned in the Elon game. The MAAC sent 4 teams to the post season last year. Iona 22-11 lost in the first round to Iowa St 94-81 in the NCAA. Monmouth 28-8 lost in the second round of the NIT to George Washington 94-81. The Bulls lost at home by 6 to GW early last year. Fairfield 19-14 lost in the first round of the CIT to New Hampshire 77-62. Siena 21-13 lost to Bill Clinton’s alma mater Morehead State 84-80 in the CBI. Manhattan had an off year as did Quinnipiac and Niagra. But this is a tough conference. No one knows what to expect out of the young Bulls.

GO BULLS !!!!!
