2022 Bishop McLaughlin High School guard Emanuel Sharp broke his fibula BullsInsider.com learned early Thursday morning. Surgery is scheduled later this morning.

Sharp was having a very good Spring on a loaded E1T1 United AAU team but will now miss his second consecutive summer of AAU play. Also, if you recall, Sharp had surgery in October to repair a broken bone in one of his hands sustained during the Hoop Exchange Fall Festival. That injury caused Sharp to miss the first six games of his junior season.

Despite his early season setback, Sharp earned 3A first team All-State honors from the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches (FABC) and Source Hoops. Sharp averaged 24.7 points, 3.9 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.8 steals per game to lead his team to the 3A state semifinals where they lost to eventual state champion Calvary Christian (Fort Lauderdale). BMHS finished the season ranked No. 24 in the state by MaxPreps.

Sharp was the third leading scorer in class 3A and according to MaxPreps only 16 players scored more points in the 2020-21 season than Sharp. All but one of those players participated in more games than Sharp.

I'll have an update on Sharp later in the day today.
