I think this Bulls team can learn a lot by watching the game over and over and over. It's like a "Tale of Two Teams". One playing team basketball (UAB) and one playing playground basketball (USF).

There were some good things that USF accomplished, like Ruben Guerrero's play was inspiring and bodes well for the future, Angel Nunez played very good except for the turnovers. As Always team rebounding was solid.

The Bulls outscored UAB by 4 points in 2 point baskets. The Blazers outscored USF by 9 from behind the arc and by 6 at the foul line. 15-4 = 11. The margin of loss. USF 19 turn overs to UAB's 8. OUCH !!!! We got a hell of a good team to only lose by 11. Most times -11 TO's will get you beat by 20 !!!!

I watched UAB constantly move the ball from side to side until something opened up and then they struck with precision. I watched USF guards dribble the ball around while guys stood flat footed inside. Same thing the clock runs down and someone takes a bad shot.

The ONLY way this team will start winning is if they can get the ball inside to the bigs. I don't know what happened to Cousins last night, but I'll take it as an anomally and not something to be repeated. Not being able to get the ball into the bigs is why we went to the line only 7 times to UAB's 23 times. We have guys who can score inside if we can get the ball to them with proper position and timing. These are things that can be worked on. I'd start off by watching what UAB does.

I'd like to have Jamal McMurray as a luxury rather than a necessity to winning. He is being put under too much pressure for a true freshman to score. Last night he was a volume shooter as was Morillo. Morillo pretty much is a volume shooter every night, but I think McMurray may have been feeling the pressure to score and that threw his shooting off a bit.

Maybe we need to think in terms of a point forward to go along with point guards. Anything to get the ball inside !! Rapid ball movement then something opens up and whoever is holding the rock makes the assist. Just like UAB did it.

GO BULLS !!!!!
