USF just recently got two more good sized donations. Tampa General Hospital donated $3.5 million to endow a faculty chair in cardiovascular sciences and to create a neurosciences research fund to examine brain and nervous system diseases through the Morsani College of Medicine.
The Frank and Ellen Daveler donated $2.9 million to start a program to educate the next generation of business start ups.
These two gifts pushed the UnStoppaBULL campaign to over $900 million. Theres a very good chance well be able to wrap up our goal of $1 Billion by the end of the year. Its an amazingly impressive feat considering how few Universities can raise this type of money.
Since some of this is "pledged" and not donated as of yet, I expect to see an uptick in next years endowment level. I really hope to see us get past the $500 million mark.
