2020 USF Football Coaching Staff. Only three coaches from Clemson, not including Jeff Scott, with Bowers never coaching a true position there as he just graduated, Dye (graduate assistant), and King, as Trevor Lawrence's high school coach.

Jeff Scott Head Coach....He became Clemson’s wide receivers coach midway through the 2008 season when Dabo Swinney took over as interim head coach and then added co-offensive coordinator duties under Swinney in 2015. Scott graduated cum laude from Clemson in 2003 with a degree in mathematics, having earned President’s List recognition with a 4.0 grade-point average in 2001 and 2002. He went on to earn a master’s degree in education instruction.

Glenn Spencer Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers Coach....Prior to his time at FAU, Spencer spent eight seasons as a defensive coordinator at two different schools, leading the defense at Charlotte for one season (2018) and the Oklahoma State defense for seven (2011-17). Has never coached at Clemson. Prior to his time at OSU, Spencer served as assistant head coach and recruiting coordinator at Duke University (2004-06) for three seasons, where he coached the defensive backs and linebackers. He also coached at Georgia Tech (2001-03), and spent three years as head coach of the University of West Georgia Wolves (1998-2000).

Charlie Weis Jr. Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach....spent the previous two seasons before arriving at USF as offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach under Lane Kiffin at FAU. Prior to arriving at FAU, Weis had stops with two NFL organizations, the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots, and three other universities, including Alabama, Kansas and Florida. No direct association with Clemson.

Da'Quan Bowers Defensive Line Coach....Bowers returned to Tampa where he was a second round NFL Draft pick of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2011 and played five seasons for the Bucs. Bowers ended his professional career following the 2017 season and returned to Clemson in 2018 where he completed his degree and worked with the Tigers’ defensive lineman as an undergraduate coach. Bleeds Clemson through and through.

Daniel Da Prato Special Teams Coordinator....Da Prato came to USF after a season at Arkansas in which he served in a quality control position for special teams under head coach Chad Morris and was later promoted to special teams coordinator under interim head coach Barry Lunney Jr.. He was also at New Mexico State, Sacramento State, and UL- Monroe. No alignment with Clemson in the past.

Xavier Dye Wide Receivers Coach....Dye, a wide receiver at Clemson (2007-10), was coached by Scott in his final three seasons as a Tiger and served as a graduate assistant working with the receiving corps for two seasons at Clemson (2017-18), working under Scott who was then co-offensive coordinator/wide receivers coach. He came to USF after serving as wide receivers coach on head coach Neal Brown’s first staff at West Virginia during the 2019 season. Another Clemson player and coach.

Joey King Tight Ends Coach....King came to USF after one season as wide receivers coach at Coastal Carolina and five as the head coach at Cartersville High School (Ga.) where he led the Purple Hurricanes to a 67-4 overall record, two 4A state championships and four state title games.
“We are excited to have Joey join our staff,” Scott said. “I got to know him well during our recruitment of Trevor Lawrence at Clemson and he had great success coaching Trevor and leading Cartersville High School to a pair of state titles.

Allen Mogridge Offensive Line Coach....Prior to FIU, Mogridge spent one season as offensive line coach at Georgia Southern (2016), two seasons at UCF (2014-15), one season as offensive line coach at Temple (2013) and another season at UCF (2012). His tenure with the Knights started in 2012 as special teams/tight ends coach, he returned in 2014 as tight ends/H-backs coach before moving to offensive line coach (2015). Mogridge worked for three seasons at North Carolina (2009-11), serving as special teams coach, tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator. The Tar Heels appeared in three-consecutive bowl games during his time. No past relation with Clemson.

Pat White Running Backs Coach....A former two-time Big East Offensive Player of the Year as a quarterback at West Virginia, White comes to USF after serving the last two seasons as quarterbacks coach at Alcorn State. In his first season with Alcorn State in 2018, White developed quarterback Noah Johnson into the SWAC Offensive Player of the Year and SWAC Championship Game Offensive MVP. No association with Clemson.

Jules Montinar Cornerback Coach....After one year as a defensive quality control assistant, Jules Montinar has accepted a position as the cornerbacks coach at South Florida, landing an on-the-field coaching position. Montinar established himself as an elite recruiter while at Texas State, earning the 247Sports 2017 Sun Belt Recruiter of the Year. His ties in Texas and Florida, where he’s spent considerable time recruiting, could benefit the Bulldogs on the trail. Montinar’s previous stops include James Madison, Purdue and Eastern Kentucky, his alma mater.

Trumain Carroll Head Strength & Conditioning Coach....Trumain Carroll was named director of football strength and conditioning on Dec. 20, 2019, becoming the first addition to head coach Jeff Scott’s staff at USF. Carroll spent the previous two seasons serving as head strength and conditioning coach under head coach Chad Morris at Arkansas (2018-19) and previously worked under Morris as head strength and conditioning coach at SMU (2015-17) for three seasons.
