I thought this needed a new thread even though I commented on it in another thread. I was thoroughly impressed by how well conditioned, how physically our players looked, and their size. I truly cannot remember all complete transformation like this since 2010...that was Coach Keef's last year running S&C before Skip ran him off for Hans and Frans. Since that time we've posted completely unacceptable strength numbers each year, we've seemed perpetually out of condition, and our guys size was usually not good, either kids looking loaded with bad weight (10lbs or so over their ideal weight and looking like that 10lbs all resided on the belly).

I mean this is a big deal. Look at that game the other night. I re-watched it and what stood out was our guys were never cramping, no one noticeable (and it was a humid and hot night), never had their hands on hips, all the players looked absolutely jacked....some guys like say James Hamilton looked noticeably slimmer from before...AND not coincidentally noticeably more agile!!!!!!! I do understand we have more depth, but we made a lot of mistakes early in the game, should have been much better, and therefore probably kept starters in longer then the staff wanted, and even by the end of the 2nd quarter, and middle of the 3rd those starters were dominating in comparison to their starters....partially because our guys were in great shape.

It was a neat sight, one that I haven't seen since 2010, when the only reason we had success that year was because of ALL the Leavitt hold-over players, and having Coach Keef and crew stick around....by the time Skip got to work those kids out in late spring (remember that was a late spring game too almost in May), Keef already had those boys jacked. The last several years I've watched games and been thoroughly disappointed in the appearance of our team, in the poorer strength numbers, and in the conditioning. But that wasn't the case at all last game, again the first time I can say that since 2010.

I should also add what was impressive was the energy. This was a team for once all wanting to bring 'the juice'....it didn't look fake like in years past, this time it looked like guys that were all fired up, flying to the ball, showing up and showing out. Now, some of that might need to be toned down a bit....Barr running into the tunnel after his TD which was called back by a hold on Adams (which was by the way a bad call), but Barr should be lucky because running into tunnels like that would have gotten him an unsportsman like penalty....but the energy, the athleticism, the excitement seems infections. Imagine with Harris, and Whitehurst get back.
