I just entered a FutureCast pick for 2021 four-star wing Michael James to Virginia Tech. James has built a great relationship with the Virginia Tech staff, particularly with assistant coach Chester Frazier.
USF did a very good job recruiting James early -- they were the first program to offer James back in June 2019 -- but ever since Virginia Tech offered four months ago they have been surging in his recruitment.
Frazier also has a very strong relationship with James' high school coach Steve Reece. Frazier recruited Barry Brown (Gibbs HS) who played for Reece's E1T1 United program in the Nike EYBL. Brown went on to have an excellent four-year career at Kansas State, where Frazier was an assistant before moving to Virginia Tech.
