USF, Virginia and Pittsburgh reached out to Myers Park (NC) High School point guard Jacob Newman last week.
I've seen Newman listed at 6-foot, 5-foot-11 and 5-foot-10 but one thing that is accurate is that this kid is a heady lead guard, who is reliable with the ball, has very good vision, and if someone is open, Newman seems to find them. He is athletic and not afraid of contact.
Newman is also a RB on the Myers Park football team. I'm told that he has earned several FCS offers.
Oh, and he has been timed at 4.32 in the 40-yard dash.
