Assuming he goes in that range, my cursory look at Baseball Reference shows he'd be the earliest drafted USF player since 1997.
If Merrell's power this season translates over to wood, he should have a pretty clear to path to the bigs with his speed and contact skills. I can the worry over his lack of power on the Cape, but slugging .596 as a junior should put some of those concerns to rest. Plus having more walks than strikeouts is always a very attractive sign to many teams.
