So on TOS, a poster who appeared to be Grant Polk's father said something to the effect that Bronco had no control over the program. Yesterday a suit was filed in the Western District of PA against UVA and some players and coaches by another player who transferred out: http://www.espn.com/espn/otl/story/_/id/17832652/ex-uva-receiver-alleges-hazing-abusive-culture
Without knowing the facts underlying the accusations, I can say that the firm representing the plaintiff, Dinsmore & Shoal, is not some small-time plaintiff's firm. They have over 500 attorneys and are a major player in the Ohio and Western PA legal market, and their involvement speaks volumes to me (although I do have some questions over why they filed here instead of Virginia, other than our juries are probably more plaintiff's friendly).
I'm also struck by how many of these cases involve allegations of nudity or sexual acts. Pretty disgusting, and a pretty clear sign that the perpetrators have a severe predilection to sexual violence. I played high school baseball and football and never once experienced anything approaching like these accusations, but there are so many documented cases across the country that I don't doubt that it does happen. There was a Sports Illustrated story about Favre's first year with the Falcons earlier this week that went into a little detail about how Bill Fralic would make rookie linemen hug each other while naked. That's pretty messed up, and to me, is more embarrassing for Fralic than the guys he made touch junk. If you think that's funny, it means you have the sense of humor of a 12 year old and probably some pretty repressed feelings about your own sexuality.
