So I know this has been up for discussion a lot lately, especially with all of the talks of expansion and moving on to conferences and what have you so I figured that this bit of information was important. According to Biz Journals, it sounds like Judy could potentially get a new contract this year. It would be a one-year contract though. Well, the board is meeting about it anyway. They are discussing giving her a contract extension with a pay raise. The contract would be effective July 1, 2016 since the old one will be up on June 30th of this year.
I know how some have wondered when her contract would be up and if it were this year, would she retire and we would move towards a president who is more friendly athletically and would provide the support to get things moving forward a little more quickly or aggressively for us. Well, if the BOT is planning on giving an extension, you just have to think that move is less likely going to happen, otherwise they wouldn't be talking about it this early. Who knows. However, this is only talks right now so maybe this is the time when they start to make their decision on what direction our school is going to take. Seems like the figures are pretty much established though based on the article. Enough to actually include numbers instead of just say "pay raise" so this whole process is most likely a lot further long than just talks.
