Courtney Williams for hitting the 2,000 career point mark last night. Only the second USF women's basketball player to do so in USF history. She is just incredible. She needed 28 points last night and got it. I can't believe this is her last year. I want her to stay forever. She's so much fun to watch.
Side note: This team has kind of stepped it up the last couple of games. This team could have fallen apart when Jenkins went down with her injury and has been out a lot of games already. They hung in there and now Ferreira is out. That's another blow because Ferreira has been pretty reliable in the points department this year. She's not as hot as she was last year from 3, Laska has taken that role, but you could still count on her to help contribute. There isn't a time table yet for either player to come back yet and that's kind of scary. There are only 8 games left in the season, or less than a month until the AAC tournament. I wonder if we win out if we would rest our players during the AAC tournament to try and get them fresh to make a run in the NCAA tournament. I don't think that the girls will have to win the AAC tourney to make it into the NCAA tournament.
