I listened to our boards' opinion on football recruiting and it's pretty much in agreement that USF should concentrate mainly on recruiting Florida kids. That's pretty hard to argue with. But nothing is iron clad if they can get top prospects from other states. Still the bulk of football recruits should come from Florida imo.

In terms of basketball, it would be great if we could recruit the top talent in our state, but not much effort was put into it during COA's tenure. Many of the kids he recruited in Florida, had their roots in NYC. That probably cost USF some good home grown products.

I look at Malik Fitts from Rancho Cucamonga, Ca and I say we could use more of that west coast talent. I saw the film clip on Ball family from Chino Hills, Ca. They are an incredibly talented 3 basketball players. Lonzo (oldest brother) is playing at UCLA, Liangelo (middle brother) is committed to UCLA and Lomelo (youngest brother) committed to UCLA when he was a freshman in high school. Lomelo just scored 92 points in Chino Hills 146-123 victory over Los Osos, 41 of his 92 points came in the 4th quarter. The thing about this game is Lomelo has fantastic ball skills and so did some of his team mates and the Los Osos players as well. Both teams shot the ball unbelievably. UCLA is getting Liangelo in 2018 and Lomelo in 2019. That will be a hell of a show to watch. Steve Alford has pretty much assured his tenure at UCLA with those commitments.

Rancho Cucamonga and Chino Hills are 18 miles apart in the east LA area and with the traffic it takes 32 minutes to travel between the two communities. I wonder if Malik Fitts played against the Ball brothers in high school ? I saw the film on Fitts at Brewster Academy and I said he would be the sleeper in the 2016 recruiting class. He turned out to be 2 inches taller than he was initially listed at and had a more mature body than most freshmen. He just got AAC freshman of the week award and his best ball is ahead of him.

All of us Bulls fans are jonesing for a return to respectability on the hardwood. I say we need to be less parochial in our approach to basketball recruiting than we are in football recruiting. We need good players no matter where they are from and Cali has a double truckload of them.

Also I would like to know if there is any chance we can get Feliz back in the loop for next season ?

GO BULLS !!!!!
