I never really saw a discussion about The Times All-Time Bulls for the first 20 years. An interesting first and second team list...some interesting omissions and additions. Seems they leaned heavily on most of the Big East period and beyond.

After perusing my opinion is they were a tad lazy and defaulted to the current guys. For example, just because Austin Reiter started a bunch of games at center doesn't make him the best center in history. Jake Griffin, and Sampson Genus were better centers with more accolades then Reiter, and even Sipps. I love Joey Sipps, but that pick at 2nd team is a simple nod to demonstrate they remember the original Bulls. Griffin, and Genus were the centers and all-conference guys during our greatest run.
Here are my other takes:
QB- got it right with Grothe first, and BJ second team.
RB- got it right at first team with Mack, and Andre, but second team nod to Mike Ford, maybe on potential but the unfulfilled promise makes it difficult for me to see him there...I put the workhorse Clenton Crossley.
WR- Carlton Mitchell is a interesting pick for 1st team, and no mention of Hugh Smith on either 1st or 2nd team who still holds a lot of records.
OL- I mentioned the center issues I had above. Bryjar to me isn't a first teamer, and I would never have Darrell Williams ahead of Sarosi, or Levi Newton, and what about Walt Walker, and how about Matt Huners too.
TE- I have no problem with Cedric Hill, but not at 1st team, I like Price too, but Trevor Hypolite should be first team TE.
ST- no problem with the selections.
Defense- good with all the first team selections. I would probably place Buie slightly ahead of Giddins on second team, and LRS Jr. is ok, but Tim Jones deserves a nod there too. I hate Bruce Mompremier couldn't crack in but that summarizes the quality LB play we've had at USF.
Good stuff for reading and remembering the past.
