I noticed we had several players making All-State Football Teams from our class. Check it out at this site. I don't know if this is the official all-state team as voted by the writers. The publisher of the site picks them it states based on recommendations from writers, coaches, and review of all area, all county, and all city teams.

8A- 1st team- Johnny Ford as a UT player-- there is no doubt this kid is electric, and should contribute in a myriad of ways because he has shift to go with his speed, and rapid acceleration.
8A- 2nd team- Terrence Horne as a WR. This shocks me a bit, maybe there is more here then meets the eye with his highlight tapes. What is more interesting is his 4 star WR teammate Watts, who we also tried to pursue only made Honorable mention. Interesting.
8A 3rd team- Reshawn Yates- this is impressive because his team was so bad, and there is some top shelf DE's ahead of him in this grouping-- Domenick was HR.
7A- 1st team- Kamari Morales- TE as a junior-- impressive now let's hold onto this recruit.
7A-1st team- Brad Cecil- the future at center hopefully.
7A- 1st team- Jordan McCloud at a utility player- this tells you the type of player Jordan is...the two first team QB's were Bryce Carpenter who signed with Coastal Carolina but put up insane numbers like 3200 yards passing, and 42 TD's, and Penix. Jordan was talented enough that they felt he had to be first team which is a good sign for USF.
7A- 1st team- Tyrone Barber- DL...clearly the staff took this commitment because there is some serious talent here that they wanted despite being stocked in this class at DL.
7A- 2nd team- Donovan Jennings- a nice sign, he's a project as an OT, needs to add size and strength but seems to be a very good project.
7A- 3rd team- Vincent Davis DB- we knew he was good...lots of good DB's that were highly recruited ahead of him.
7A- of note, Shaun Peterson was first team RB...I still say we should have kept him.
6A- 3rd team- Devin Leacock- DL...a slight project with unbelievable strength. Nice to see him recognized.
6A- HR- Jajuan Cherry-DB- did well to make it on a bad team. The only other Okeechobee player to make the list was their punter who made first team- not a good sign.
Of note- Jerome Ford, and Miller both made first team and Miller was Defensive POY, and Boone third team OL..clearly the staff's targets were great players.
5A- 1st team- Trey Laing...he had a great season and is a quality snag.
5A-3rd team- Keyon Helton- I think we'll find this kid to be a good talent. His twin brother made 2nd team as a WR, and he's a burner, and Keyon supposedly isn't much slower but with more height.
5A of note- Kyler Laing third team DL, Devon Matthews first team defense as a utility player-- again coaches had good eye for talent, and so did we recognizing Devon on video as a player.
4A- no one made the 4A, and they only have a first and second team and HR at this level and below. One note, Jermain McMillian who we just lost to UCF made 1st team. Again a good sign of the staff's ability to evaluate talent.
3A- Sainterling made 2nd team...some good players ahead of him on 1st team.
2A- no one made the team. Shockingly target LB Khalan Tolson of Admiral Farragut made 1st team, but no Waller or Roland on any of the teams.
1A no one made or was on a 1A team that USF picked up.

6A-1st team- Antonio Grier- I told you this kid was a player. Second highest classification in Georgia and he was a first team LB
5A- HR- Octavious Battle- they only have first teams on this list. The QB's on 1st team is Jake Fromm's younger brother who is a four star for next year, and another four star. Looking good for Battle.
That means of the 25 high school recruits we selected 15 made an all-state team, and 6 made first team, not including our 2019 TE recruit. Impressive. This isn't the end all, as some times kids are on bad teams, or coaches are not as active in promoting them for these things, and recruiting- not posting stats, not calling and putting together highlights, or talking to the media about them. Look at 6A, how does a 10-4 Miami Central team only put two guys on all-state, with 5-star James Cook making 3rd team utility, and no Boyles. Boyles has 3.5 sacks in his last two playoff games including 1 sack and 2 TFL against Miami Northwestern in state quarters where they lost a close game....but for many these lists are a good indicator of talent, but not the only indicator, just one of the many tools. If you look at Boyles in the playoff game against American Heritage where he had 2.5 sacks...how does he not make first team. The dude ran down QB's with some amazing closing speed. The fact he is a four star on some sites is totally warranted. Ditto for Yates who had 13 sacks and some ungodly to watch videos. The kid is a beast, a four star, top shelf talent in my book at either strong-side end, rush backer, three tech, or maybe LB....he's that impressive to me. Coaches don't post his stats, no senior only highlight reel, but watched most of his highlights in games as a senior so I could put together how impressive his senior year was, Yates is all business, which is another thing I love about this kid. He's big at 6-3 250lbs, maybe, but is just solid, powerful, with unbelievably strong hands and uses them so advanced for his age. When he finds a position, and can sculpt his body even better in a good quality college S&C program this kid will be a beast.
