It sounds more and more like the Big 12 will go to 12 and not 14. We know that most likely kills any chance we have at joining in this round of expansion. The AAC will hopefully only lose Houston and the other being BYU. Cincy is still a decent possibility. Say we lose Houston and Cincy. We are still significantly better than any other G5 league. We are next contract up and I hope we go to open bid this time. ESPN has raped this league for years. They have taken advantage of this league and former Big East every chance they could and deliberately destroyed it when we turned them down. I hope we go after the MWC with Air Force and Colorado State. Let's attack and hurt our only competition for top G5 spot. If not, stay at 10 or just add one. Content is only valuable today if it's quality. I call BS on brand. Brand only brings real ratings if they are winning. What does Washington have now? They had fantastic ratings in the 90s when they were the current Oregon of the Pac 10. Oregon had no value in the 90s until they started winning. Does anyone any longer outside of the Big 10 or Nebraska care about Nebraska? I can't remember the last time I watched Nebraska. I watched them constantly in the 90s in their glory days. Houston had some of the top rated TV games last year of anyone and it's because they were good and high ranked and in a good market. 5 years ago no one cared about Houston. Few cared 3 years ago. If Houston goes to the Big 12 and sucks then no one will care about them any longer nationally. I remember in 06 when Rutgers was the darling of the nation. Schiano chopping wood. WVU from 2005 until 2010 was highly watched. Now WVU is an after thought in the Big 12 and Rutgers is back to being Rutgers who they were for their first 100 years. People watch ranked games not 3-4 Rutgers versus 4-3 Maryland. Imagine Boise if they started losing? We need high performing schools that bring value. If not, don't dilute the product and our revenue.
