Congrats to Roberto Cid. This kid absolutely deserves a thread of his own. He made it all the way to the Elite 8 in the NCAA individuals but fell short to Mackenzie McDonald, who ultimately went on to win the entire thing so not too shabby. Had he not had to face McDonald so early, he might have made the next round. I'm happy for him. Bittersweet because he's a senior and he's graduating but watching him has been nothing short of amazing. This was his second time in his career making it to the NCAA quarterfinals. Also, a two-time All-American, a program's first. Not only two-time, but just first All-American ever. And this year he went out with a bang being ranked as high as #2 in the nation and beat three of the top 5 players in the nation, some of them being beat more than once.
The best USF tennis player in USF history and a no question first ballot USF HOFer when his name comes up. Just fantastic. We'll all miss you Cid. #CidTheKid
